One summer that changed the fate of the Holy Land.

In July 1187 the army of the Kingdom of Jerusalem marched from Sephoria to relieve Tiberias. On the 4th July, exhausted and without water, it was destroyed by Saladin at the Horns of Hattin. King Guy was captured and the relic of the True Cross was lost. Acre fell on the 10th July, followed by Sidon, Beirut, Jaffa and Ascalon, and on the 2nd October 1187 Jerusalem surrendered. Only Tyre, defended by Conrad of Montferrat, held out.

Drawn as a dramatic night map in black and gold, this piece traces the march to Hattin and marks every city taken, with its date, in the campaign that brought on the Third Crusade.

Dark, bold and full of story, it makes a powerful statement on any wall and a memorable gift for military history fans.

Printed on premium matte paper with a rich, glare-free finish, and set in a dark wood frame, ready to hang.

Sizes: 12x16 in or 18x24 in
