Godfrey of Bouillon would not be called king of the city where Christ had died. His brother Baldwin had no such doubts, and on Christmas Day 1100 he was crowned the first King of Jerusalem in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The kingdom's cross, one great cross with a smaller cross in each quarter, is still worn in red today by the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Embroidered in Crusader red on a white field, on black twill.
