Krak des Chevaliers Hospitaller Fortress Poster
$28.20
Granted to the Knights Hospitaller in 1142, Krak des Chevaliers grew into the greatest castle of the crusades. The knights rebuilt it as a massive concentric fortress of double walls and towers, holding the mountains of Syria for nearly 130 years until it fell to the Mamluk Sultan Baybars in 1271.
The fortress stands in dark silhouette on its hill against a twilight sky of deep blue and amber, lights glowing in its towers, with the white cross of the Hospitallers shining above. A tribute to the most famous castle of Outremer.
Printed on premium 200gsm matte paper with a glare-free finish and rich, deep colour.
Sizes: 12x16 in or 18x24 in
