Take Up the Cross First Crusade Poster
$28.20
On the 27th November 1095, at the Council of Clermont in France, Pope Urban II called on the knights of Europe to march east and free Jerusalem. Thousands answered, sewing cloth crosses onto their clothes as a sign of their vow. They became known as crusaders, those who had taken the cross.
A bold red cross rises from a parchment field of radiating rays, with TAKE UP THE CROSS in strong black lettering above and the Council of Clermont, November 1095, recorded below. A striking tribute to the call that started it all.
Printed on premium 200gsm matte paper with a glare-free finish and rich, deep colour.
