The Leper King Baldwin IV Poster

Baldwin IV became King of Jerusalem at just 13 years old, already suffering from leprosy. On the 25th November 1177, aged only 16, he led a small army against Saladin at Montgisard and won a famous victory. He ruled and fought on as his illness worsened, until his death in 1185 at the age of 23.

A gold crown sits above a silver shield bearing the gold Jerusalem Cross, the arms of the Kingdom, against a starlit night sky, with THE LEPER KING above and his victory at Montgisard recorded below. A tribute to one of the most remarkable kings of Outremer.
