Teutonic Order Black Cross Poster
$28.20
The Teutonic Order was born during the Siege of Acre in 1190, when German crusaders set up a field hospital to care for their sick and wounded. By 1198 it had become a military order of knights, wearing a white mantle marked with a black cross. From the Holy Land its knights went on to build a powerful state on the shores of the Baltic.
A gold-rimmed white shield bearing the black cross of the Order stands against a dark field, with THE TEUTONIC ORDER above and its Latin name, Ordo Domus Sanctae Mariae Teutonicorum, below. Stark, striking and steeped in history.
Printed on premium 200gsm matte paper with a glare-free finish and rich, deep colour.
