The Great Helm Crusader Armour Poster
$28.20
By the late 12th century, crusader knights were going into battle wearing the great helm, a flat-topped helmet that enclosed the whole head. Riveted from steel plates, it gave the knight narrow sight slits to see through and small holes to breathe, and it became one of the defining images of the crusading knight.
Drawn in the style of a vintage armourer's study, a steel great helm marked with a red cross sits on a parchment grid, its key features labelled, with THE GREAT HELM above and A STUDY IN STEEL below. A great piece for lovers of medieval arms and armour.
Printed on premium 200gsm matte paper with a glare-free finish and rich, deep colour.
Sizes: 12x16 in or 18x24 in
